VIN Etching | October 13th | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

We will host our second VIN Etching event of the year at Thompson Toyota in partnership with the Bucks County District Attorneys Office. VIN etching "tattoos" the unique vehicle identification number (VIN) on all of the vehicle's windows and sunroof. The chemical etching does not harm the glass and does not detract from the vehicle's appearance. VIN etching deters theft as it makes it more difficult for a thief to sell the car or its parts. Click here to learn more.

Align with Thompson in the Fight Against Breast Cancer | October 1-31st

1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer. That's about 1.4 million who will be diagnosed this year. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Thompson Organization wanted to show support for survivors and those affected by it. For every 4-Wheel Alignment service, we will donate $10 to the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Organization.

Why did we choose this organization? The Linda Creed Breast Cancer Organization helps women locally, right here in our communities. The LCBCO, founded over 31-years ago, is dedicated to the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. LCBCO cover costs for free mammography screenings for uninsured/underinsured women in our communities, supporting patients every step of the way. The organization works with hospitals in our area.

"Without medical insurance coverage, these women often ignore well care and, too often, it also means ignoring the symptoms," said Fran Orodeckis, Development Director, Linda Creed Breast Cancer Organization.

The LCBCO is a grassroots effort, fundraising more than $300,000 each year.

"We hear a lot that people work full time just to have healthcare, then when you need it most, you can't get the help you need," said Orodeckis. "That's where we come in. We help to make sure everyone gets the assistance to get treatment."

During the month of October Align with Thompson in the fight against breast cancer. It's one way we can help make a difference, because 'we're in this together.'

Starting with last year's survey, Consumer Reports converted its predicted reliability score to a 100-point scale, with those brands scoring between 41 and 60 points deemed reliable. Those with scores above that were considered more reliable and those below that less reliable. Click here to read the full article.

Toyota Tops Auto Industry for IIHS Safety Awards
For the third year in a row, Toyota has topped the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) annual list of safety awards. Twelve Toyota vehicles won IIHS awards in 2017, with nine receiving its highest award, the TOP SAFETY PICK+, the most of any manufacturer.
"At Toyota, our focus remains on the safety and peace of mind of our customers," said Dino Triantafyllos, Toyota's North American Chief Quality Officer. "We are proud that our commitment to developing safe and reliable vehicles resulted in such a strong showing in 2017 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards".
According to IIHS, automakers were required to meet tougher criteria to be considered for the top 2017 awards, including headlight evaluations launched in 2016. Among this year's TOP SAFETY PICK+ recipients, the IIHS recognized the updated Toyota Corolla for improved small overlap crash protection and front crash prevention, as well as the Toyota Prius for its improved headlights.
To receive a TOP SAFETY PICK AWARD, vehicles were required to achieve good ratings in five crashworthiness tests, have an available front crash prevention system and have quality headlights. TOP SAFETY PICK+ award winners must also have a superior- or advanced-rated front crash prevention system with automatic braking capabilities.
- 2017 Toyota TOP SAFETY PICK+ winners: Toyota Prius (built after August 2016), Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, Toyota Prius v, and Toyota RAV4.
- 2017 Toyota TOP SAFETY PICK winners: Toyota Yaris iA and Toyota Avalon.

Jack Thompson Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

On January 26, 2009, The American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) today honored longtime member and past director John H. (Jack) Thompson of Doylestown, PA with the David F. Mungenast, Sr. Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, named after the late AIADA Chairman and legendary St. Louis-area automobile dealer, was presented during AIADA's 39th Annual Meeting and Luncheon held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

"This year's award winner has claimed the respect of dealers and industry employees in all corners of the country," said AIADA President Cody Lusk. "Jack is remarkable not just for his unwavering commitment to protecting the livelihoods of international auto dealers, but also for his strength as a leader and reputation for generosity."

Thompson was one of the first Toyota dealers in the United States, opening for business in 1969. In 1989 he once again blazed a trail as one of the country's first Lexus dealers. He credits his success, and correspondingly high customer satisfaction and retention scores, to the philosophy that he is not in the car business, but the people business. In 1997 He won the Time Magazine Quality Dealer of the Year award and in 1998 the Sports Illustrated Dealer of Distinction.

Thompson's love of cars extends past the office. Over the years he has accumulated one of the largest vintage car collections in the country, focused primarily on vintage race cars and European models. Jack is a member of the Sport Car Club of America and has served as that organization's chief executive steward. Active in his community, Thompson has also served as a board member of the land preservation group Heritage Conservancy, the title sponsor of the Doylestown Arts Festival, and as a host of the annual Susan G. Komen Drive for the Cure.

Today, Thompson owns and operates six dealerships in both Doylestown and Warrington, PA: Thompson Toyota, Thompson Lexus, and Thompson BMW in Doylestown and Porsche of Bucks County, Audi Warrington and Thompson Volkswagen in Warrington. He has been a member of AIADA since 1975.
