Thompson is Helping to Drive Away the Cold!Ā

Ā
On October 15, 2021 The Thompson Organization delivered over 200 coats to Willow Grove YMCA, Tabor Children's Services Inc., and Bucks County Children and Youth. The coats were part of a program called Driving Away the Cold, organized by Auto Dealers CARing for Kids and Auto Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia. These coats are made available to children in our community who need coats for the upcoming winter season.Ā

The Thompson Organization partners with Auto Dealers CARing for Kids - a nonprofit organization composed of 190 auto dealers doing good in Greater Philadelphia. This year, the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation's New Coat Program hit a major milestone this fall by distributing 500,000 brand-new winter coats to area children in need.

"We are proud to have participated in the Driving Away the Cold program for the past eight years," said John Thompson, Vice President of The Thompson Organization. "It's humbling to have the opportunity to touch the lives of local children directly, and to fulfill a need that is often taken for granted."Ā

Thompson Partners with Pine2Pink

Ā
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and to show support, Thompson partnered with Pine2Pink: a Doylestown-based, non-profit organization helping breast cancer patients in our community. This year, Thompson committed to donating $25 for every new or pre-owned vehicle sold during October.Ā
Ā
To add to the excitement, throughout the month of October, all of Thompson's dealerships were bathed in bright pink lights. At Thompson Toyota, community members were invited to sign their Hero Wall - the pink panels located outside the front entrance of the dealership. This wall is a visual celebration of survivors, encouragement for those in recovery, as well as to memorialize loved ones lost.
Ā
Thompson's goal was to donate $12,000 to Pine2Pink and they are so excited to announce they surpassed that goal, donating a grand total of $12,500
Ā
"Pine2Pink's partnership with the Thompson Organization goes deeper and is more impactful than people realize.Ā  The Community gets the benefit of seeing 330 lights turn pink and the Toyota arch becoming a monument to honor those who are fighting and have fought breast cancer.Ā  But when you look deeper this organization is run by people who are selfless, passionate professionals from the top down who donate hours-upon-hours to support us in amazing ways like creating banners, flags and magnets.Ā  They provide marketing and design support, they coordinate and produce events, they created the Pine2Pink mobile as a fantastic billboard on wheels and even dedicated an actual billboard on Rt. 413.Ā  They offer proceeds splits, like $25 per car sold during the month of October, and on top of all this, they have donated tens of thousands of dollars annually to Pine2Pink!Ā  We have endearingly coined the dealerships Thompsonville, because they really are a little city made up of amazing people who put their hearts before their hubcaps!" shares Founder and Executive Director ofĀ Pine2PinkĀ Keith Fenimore

Align with Thompson in the Fight Against Breast Cancer | October 1-31st

1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer. That's about 1.4 millionĀ whoĀ will be diagnosed this year. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Thompson Organization wanted to show support for survivors and those affected by it. For every 4-Wheel Alignment service, we will donate $10 to theĀ Linda Creed Breast Cancer Organization.

Why did we choose this organization? The Linda Creed Breast Cancer Organization helps women locally, right here in our communities. TheĀ LCBCO, founded over 31-years ago,Ā is dedicated to the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.Ā LCBCOĀ cover costs for free mammography screenings for uninsured/underinsured women in our communities, supporting patients every step of the way. The organization works with hospitals in our area.

"Without medical insurance coverage, these women often ignore well care and, too often, it also means ignoring the symptoms," said Fran Orodeckis, Development Director, Linda Creed Breast Cancer Organization.

TheĀ LCBCOĀ is a grassroots effort, fundraising more than $300,000 each year.

"We hear a lot that people work full time just to have healthcare, then when you need it most, you can't get the help you need," said Orodeckis. "That's where we come in. We help to make sure everyone gets the assistance to get treatment."

During the month ofĀ October Align with ThompsonĀ in the fight against breast cancer. It's one way we can helpĀ makeĀ a difference, because 'we're in this together.'

To learn more aboutĀ LBCO click here. The Thompson Organization is committed to giving back to our communities.

We all know the most wonderful time of the year can also be the most stressful. With toy assembly becoming more and more like putting together IKEA furniture, it's time for our talented Thompson technicians to lend a hand.

Starting Friday, November 24th and running through Thursday, December 21st, The Thompson Organization will be taking on the role of Santa's Workshop. Rather than shipping the confusing toy parts back to the North Pole, we will be inviting our customers to pop into our Service and Parts Departments with their new gifts and toys for free assembly help. While waiting for their assembled new toy, we also welcome them to donate a gift for our partnership with the Toys for Tots program to ensure that everyone feels the holiday spirit this year. Make sure to spread the word about this great, free service!

Jack Thompson Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

On January 26, 2009, The American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) today honored longtime member and past director John H. (Jack) Thompson of Doylestown, PA with the David F. Mungenast, Sr. Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, named after the late AIADA Chairman and legendary St. Louis-area automobile dealer, was presented during AIADA's 39th Annual Meeting and Luncheon held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

"This year's award winner has claimed the respect of dealers and industry employees in all corners of the country," said AIADA President Cody Lusk. "Jack is remarkable not just for his unwavering commitment to protecting the livelihoods of international auto dealers, but also for his strength as a leader and reputation for generosity."

Thompson was one of the first Toyota dealers in the United States, opening for business in 1969. In 1989 he once again blazed a trail as one of the country's first Lexus dealers. He credits his success, and correspondingly high customer satisfaction and retention scores, to the philosophy that he is not in the car business, but the people business. In 1997 He won the Time Magazine Quality Dealer of the Year award and in 1998 the Sports Illustrated Dealer of Distinction.

Thompson's love of cars extends past the office. Over the years he has accumulated one of the largest vintage car collections in the country, focused primarily on vintage race cars and European models. Jack is a member of the Sport Car Club of America and has served as that organization's chief executive steward. Active in his community, Thompson has also served as a board member of the land preservation group Heritage Conservancy, the title sponsor of the Doylestown Arts Festival, and as a host of the annual Susan G. Komen Drive for the Cure.

Today, Thompson owns and operates six dealerships in both Doylestown and Warrington, PA: Thompson Toyota, Thompson Lexus, and Thompson BMW in Doylestown and Porsche of Bucks County, Audi Warrington and Thompson Volkswagen in Warrington. He has been a member of AIADA since 1975.
