A BOLD DESIGN. AN INVITING INTERIOR. PERFORMANCE WITH PASSION.
Thompson Toyota is excited to introduce the all-new 2013 Avalon, Toyota's flagship sedan. The 2013 Avalon is a whole new car, inside and out. It's bold, sleek, stylish and smart and we want you to experience it first-hand. The all-new, redesigned 2013 Avalon also celebrates a remarkable landmark for its brand-- the 25 millionth Toyota vehicle manufactured in North America. With unparalleled comfort, great fuel economy and legendary reliability, the Toyota Avalon is the champion of the premium midsize segment. The all-new 2013 Toyota Avalon raises the bar with new styling and the introduction of the first full-hybrid in the segment.
The new 2013 Toyota Avalon is slightly shorter, lower, and slightly less wide than the previous model. The new design was created by a team here in America, and it features a smooth, sleek shape with muscular lines and a sporting profile. In addition to being designed in the U.S., the new Avalon is also assembled right here in the USA, at the Toyota Manufacturing Plant in Georgetown, Kentucky. It offers a long list of convenient, user-friendly technologies one would expect with the Toyota brand's flagship sedan, in addition to special features that enhance the car's functionality, capability and the level of safety.

Avalon Adds Driver-Selectable Powertrain Modes
The standard Avalon has seen multiple improvements to its drivetrain, enhancing capability and fuel economy. The all-aluminum engine produces 268 hp and propels the Avalon to 60 mph in less than seven seconds. The 2013 model also sees the addition of three driver-selectable powertrain modes-"ECO," "NORMAL" and "SPORT"- to adjust the car to various driving situations.
- In the SPORT mode, the new Avalon features increased acceleration response and enhanced steering feel.
- ECO mode maximizes fuel efficiency by altering throttle response and reducing the energy used by the air-condition system - EPA-estimated 31 mpg highway and 21 mpg city
Avalon Adds Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive
For consumers seeking a premium mid-size sedan with excellent fuel economy ratings and an environmental message, the new Avalon features a full power-split hybrid system. Award-winning Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive combines with the Avalon Hybrid's reduced weight and more aerodynamic shape to deliver an EPA-estimated 39 mpg highway and 40 mpg city.
The Avalon Hybrid features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with a nickel-metal hydride battery pack. There is also a pair of electric motor/generators within the transaxle. The system has a total power output of 200 hp and has three separate driving modes: "EV," "ECO" and "SPORT."
- EV mode allows the Avalon to travel on pure electric energy for up to one mile at speeds up to 25 mph.
- ECO mode uses the gasoline motor, but adjusts throttle response and climate control to help improve fuel economy.
- SPORT mode is designed to take advantage of the Avalon's dynamic characteristics by altering engine throttle and enhancing steering feel.
American-built quality, legendary Toyota reliability and unsurpassed refinement and driving characteristics make the all-new 2013 Toyota Avalon an exciting addition to the Toyota family.
